It’s better to give than to receive
I’d agree with that…mostly…but let’s start with happy thoughts.
Baking comforts my heart.
Baking brings joy to my heart.
Baking heals my heart.
Buy why?
God chose it for me. God gave me the gift. God planned this long ago.
I can be going through extraordinarily difficult times, but once I start baking everything melts away (insert the adorable melting emoji here).
I escape to a world of wonder and creativity. Where anything is possible. I can try whatever comes to my heart. There’s no worry about the outcome, I’m just creating something that captivates my attention. I can do anything. I’m free.
Free to share my gift and bring happiness to others. This is the sharing God’s goodness part of my ministry. To let someone know they are cared for. That they are worth spending time to do something for.
This makes me ponder if that is also what I long for in my heart. To be loved and seen and thought of…I’m gonna go with yes.
I think we’ve arrived to the mostly part now.
Of course I want to feel loved and cared for, and that comes from God. If I never felt any happiness or sense of all the warm fuzzies when I baked for someone, that would be a pretty empty gift. A loveless gift. So me receiving love in return by serving God is a critical part of this.
Using God’s gift creates joy in my heart. It’s purposeful to me. It matters to me. Deeply in my heart.
Hmmmmm. Makes me wonder, is that also part of my baking ministry?
To give me purpose? To make me feel like a matter? I’m gonna go with yes.
Goodness.
This entire entry is filled with God’s goodness. It’s overflowing. It’s filled with light as all the words come from my heart.
Because God IS. God is love. God is light.
I’m starting to get emotional as I think of a very significant writing piece to me.
It was written at a critical time in my life. A time when my life depended on it. The following is part of rescued.
~~~~~~~~~~
I began to realize the LOVE, the love of God I could never understand but I know I felt it that day I was rescued. I still can feel it beyond any other feeling. It dominates. It is. It is because God is. He is love. He is the sovereign God who loves me. Who rescued me. Who saved me. Who has forgiven me. I realize that I am worth it to God. I must mean something to God. God is telling me how important I am to him. How he has something wonderful in mind for me and I need to be here for it.
~~~~~~~~~~
Honestly, I’m at a loss for any more words for this entry. I’m gonna end with this.
God prevails.
So here it is.
Follow God and Bake from your Heart,
Kendra
