July “things”
It’s time for July “things”!
WOW the United States of America is celebrating 250 years of Independence! That’s quite a milestone in history that we will be a part of this year.
July 4th is one of my favorite holidays because I love fireworks. And to experience fireworks glistening over the beautiful water is a true blessing. I have cherished memories with my family on this holiday too.
July just says summer to me with summer desserts of course. I love seeing all the creative red, white & blue themed baked goods!
Speaking of freedom…true freedom is found only in having a relationship with Jesus Christ as your Savior ~ Amen.
What says America more than homemade biscuits? This was my first attempt ever and I’m happy with the results. Funny enough I’m not a huge biscuit fan, so I made a fruit chutney glaze to sweeten them up. I’m all about all things sugary goodness and don’t forget to load on the butter as well & honey is always good too!
Is independence always good? What is true freedom?
Independence isn’t the goal in the life of a believer following God. Quite the opposite actually. We are commanded to depend on God for everything. This goes against human instinct and reason. It challenges what the world would say to do. But as followers of God, there is nothing better than experiencing the freedom only He can give in our lives. It’s a freedom so powerful, so profound, so victorious that it surpasses all understanding. Freedom is the precious gift that comes with dependence on your Heavenly Father.
