Looking back
Is that a good idea?
Yes.
To a point.
And that’s where I’m at. I am beginning a new chapter in my life. I recently wrote an entry There’s no going back and that stands true. But what about looking back?
I am taking some time to reflect on my past before I move forward.
A pause.
I hate waiting. I loathe waiting. I must wait.
I need to wait for God’s direction. In the past, (see?, I’m already looking back)(insert smile here) I called this doing “nothing”.
I recently wrote in about my very first entry and if God wanted me to do “nothing” while I waited. I made a big deal out of doing “nothing”
I see this differently now.
I am not doing “nothing”. I am doing something literally right now. I am writing this entry.
I see the waiting as a period of not making a big change. Carry on. Keep going. Do what I’m doing until further notice.
Good.
I like what I’m doing. I love writing this blog. I like the community God is building for me here in my happy place.
I don’t need a big “what’s next” answer right away.
Funny enough, I have an old entry What’s Next?. And some time later I did another What’s Next - Ditto edition.
As best I can remember the entires ended with “I’m just gonna write”.
Good.
That works for me.
I find it fascinating that this entry is titled Looking back…and I’ve mentioned several past entries. It seems I’m looking back on my writing.
I did not plan that, and that’s the best part. I do not believe in coincidence. I believe God is wanting me to look back on my writing.
Not good.
That makes me uncomfortable.
If you are a long time reader, you know that I like to write in the “now”. I don‘t like looking back at my old entries.
That being said, I do know God is good. God has the best plan for me. And I want to obey and follow God’s lead (NOT mine).
So perhaps it’s time to end this one and read those “what’s next?” past entires. I mean it is pretty funny I have a ditto edition on what’s next…just sayin

P.S. {I find it interesting that my last few entries I’ve looked back to prior ones and even included them in the entry…that’s something I’ve rarely done over the past few years…surely that’s no coincidence…it’s not…God is leading me to look back on my writing…hmmm}
